He now works at ALSTOM Power Inc. and has daily first hand knowledge of how a Connecticut company competes in the global economy. He also serves on the Board of the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce. Those insights are invaluable to his service for Connecticut and Glastonbury in the State Legislature.

In November of 2009, Tom was named a State Environmental Champion by the bipartisan Connecticut League of Conservation Voters. Tom was one of only 12 legislators chosen for the position.

Tom began his second term in the Connecticut General Assembly in January 2009. Previously, he was elected twice to the Glastonbury Town Council. Tom has been consistently involved in issues of concern to Glastonbury residents.
