GLASTONBURY— State Rep. Tom Kehoe, D-Glastonbury, has been recognized by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters as one of the state’s “Environmental Champions,” citing his advocacy for open space and farmland preservation.
Kehoe was one of only a dozen legislators included in the list for his “persistent and firm efforts” protecting the environment, standing up for clean air, clean water and clean energy. The group also said the award was for “giving our irreplaceable beaches, parks, forests, farmland and other open space the protection they deserve.”
Kehoe said the issues are “important to me and I believe they reflect the sentiment of Glastonbury residents who have a history of preserving open space and farmland.” The group’s environmental scorecard assesses both lawmakers’ votes on environmental legislation and their roles in championing specific issues.
