This letter supports the Town od Glastonbury’s application for grant funding under the STEAP Program.

The Riverfront Park project is a continuation of a partnership between the Town, State of Connecticut, and a variety of local service clubs and organizations.   The project continues the good work that has already been done to clean up  a contaminated petroleum products storage facility.  When complete this new public park will provide much needed recreation opportunities of Connecticut residents especially increased access to the Connecticut River for boating and fishing.

The town’s grant application articulates the project’s many benefits and its furtherance of the goals and policies outlined in the State Conservation and Development Plan, the State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan, and the Town Plan of Conservation of Development…

Given the public benefit, it is appropriate that the State continue its partnership with the Town.
